Introductory Note

Projects based in Layered Curriculum (Nunley, K) allow for learning to occur on parallel levels within the same learning context: all styles and levels of learners can succeed when working within such a structured program. We are exploring the possibilites that are available when students are asked to construct their own learning from a layered curriculum perspective.

Specifically, we will be examining the effectiveness of layered curriculum for the students we work with. These students range from having significant academic delays that require academic intervention in the form of IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) to students needing a little extra help to get by in their regular classes. Generally speaking, the majority of our students show difficulties with the processing of language throughout all of their subjects.
